Family lead families
As a celebrant I work with my families to create a funeral service that is personal to their loved one and which reflects and celebrates their loved one's life. This also includes families who would like a 'family lead funeral' where a family member or friend has asked or chosen to take the ceremony themselves because they want someone who knew their loved one personally to speak and celebrate their life on the day.
However writing and arranging a ceremony is not always easy especially when your are mourning the loss of a loved one and are not sure how to go about organising and writing funeral service yourself. As your celebrant I can help you to create a ceremony that reflects your loved ones life and who they were, while also offering help and guidance to the family member or friend that has chosen to take the ceremony, ensuring that they have a ceremony which they are comfortable reading on the day, and know exactly what to expect when they arrive for the ceremony.
If you have decided you would like a family member or friend to take your loved ones service, but just need some guidance and help to write, organise their celebration of life then I can help.
I would come and meet you personally so that together we could make sure your loved one had a ceremony that reflects the life they lived, while also giving you a chance to say your own personal goodbyes.
I can also be there as a back up on the day if it gets too difficult and your family member or friend needs someone who can step in, but I don't have to be it's your decision.
You may have decided that you would like a number of family and friends to speak and be a part of your loved one's celebration, but would just like a celebrant to oversee and lead the ceremony so that it runs smoothly and everyone knows when to come and speak. This is also something I can help with, bringing your family and friends words together and announcing them on the day while also helping with parts of the ceremony such as the committal and opening and closing words that you may need a celebrant for.
Whatever you decide I would be there to offer as much help and support as you needed so you could have a family lead ceremony that you are happy and confidant with, which celebrates your loved ones life the way they would have wanted and gives them the send off that they deserve.
"His service just summed up who he was, and was exactly what he would have wanted"
(Celebration of Life).
"A truly unique send off"
(Said about using wine gums at a Burial)
"Thank you for the sensitive way that you dealt with a very devastated family. We have received so many lovely comments from friends and family”.
